Choosing Kokoro Wellbeing

It can be hard to decide that you want to, or need to, speak with someone for counselling and support - especially during pregnancy or after birth. Perhaps you feel you have run out of steam, or your family and friends have suggested it. Or your GP or health professional wants to refer you for counselling. I understand how hard this first step can be.

I'm sure you have lots of questions about Kokoro Wellbeing and its services, and probably about me and mental health occupational therapy too. Please take a look at the frequently asked questions, or contact me with any other questions.

Complimentary session

'Do we fit?'

I think time and money spent in counselling and support sessions is precious - especially when you are distressed or needing help. My time and purpose are also important. I call this 'do we fit?' - do you feel comfortable with me and my services? Do you think I have the knowledge and skills you're looking for? It's also my responsibility to make sure I can help you with what you want and need.

The complimentary 'do we fit?' session is a 30-minute opportunity for me to introduce myself and the way I work, and for you to tell me a little about what's been happening, what kind of support you're looking for, and how we can work together. It can be especially helpful if you're feeling unsure or wanting to feel comfortable before booking a full appointment.

This session is not a therapy appointment. My goal is to create a supportive, respectful space where you can make an informed decision about your care.

Making appointments

Once we decide we're a good fit, I'll send you some paperwork by email so I have the information and consents required, and you are confident about the privacy, confidentiality and information you need. Once I receive your paperwork, including your Mental Health Treatment Plan (if you have one) we can get started.

Please use the contact page to get in touch, or email admin@kokorowellbeing.au for any changes.
